Janet taught Physical Education 20 years and Health Education 9 years. After retiring she attended massage school and has worked in therapeutic massage for 8 years.
As a youth she ran summer track under the Olympic coaches Timmons and Livingston as they trained Olympic miler Jim Ryan. In High School she competed in gymnastic, synchronized swimming, and field hockey. She attended college on a gymnastic scholarship and competed all four years of NCAA competition.
After graduation she started Air Capital Gymnastic Club and maintained 3 competitive USGF teams with competition in 4 states.
After moving to Wisconsin she opened a full service Women’s Fitness Center with hourly aerobic and fitness classes, swimming pool, Nautalas weights, free weights, sauna, whirllpool and childcare. After 7 years she returned to teaching.
While teaching Janet & Jim introduced Club Soccer to the local community in Wisconsin and continue with soccer until the present. Janet holds a Level C Soccer Coaching license was a soccer referee for high school and college games.
For 10 years while teaching she coached a Jump Rope for Heart Exhibition Double Dutch Jump Roping team that traveled throughout Northeast Wisconsin each year giving shows under contract with the American Heart Association. Her team consisted of 20 girls and boys from 2-5th grade.
She was the head track coach for Denmark High School and specifically coached pole vault, long jump, high jump and triple jump.
Janet has long and varied athletic experience that she utilizes in her practice of medical massage. She has observed athletic injuries from insufficient conditioning to over use syndrome. She has practiced and taught all the exercise mediums since 1960. Her free time activity is reading kinesiology -the study of the mechanics of body movements.
Janet is very results oriented. She has been ever since gymnastics and it has carried over into her coaching and now her medical massage. She loves her mission to help others understand their muscles and the kinesthetic chain of body movement.
